Approximately a 2-3 hour paddle, this trip is our shortest and easiest to navigate. Keep an eye out for nesting swans, swimming muskrats, and the red heads of Sandhill Cranes hiding in the reeds. This trip will take you through the Indian Channel, along marshlands, and into the Dermo Bayou.
This is a wonderful route to spend a whole afternoon on the water. We suggest 4-5 hours for this trip. That will allow plenty of time for exploring the bayou and stopping for lunch at beautiful Pottawattomie Park, a great halfway point to get out and stretch your legs. The park has grills, a small swimming beach, and restrooms.
This trip takes about 3-4 hours. Paddle under the large Green Street Bridge to enter into Stearns, an open yet relaxing bayou with many interesting waterfront homes. Eventually, the path will narrow until you reach a secluded and winding Lilly pad wonderland.
A 3-4 hour trip that will take you into areas not accessible by boats. A large open area turns into a secluded bayou providing a private journey through marshlands and along the forest. You can expect to see many types of waterfowl, along with deer and other animals along the coast.
